For those of you who know Rice Wales, the Marketing & Events Guru over at Boston Magazine, you know she’s always skirting off to some fun, glamourous or hip-happening event.
Today she sent me an unexpected surprise, an email listing a diverse mix of local artists, tasty treats and cool happenings around town this weekend. I couldn’t resist putting her enticing info to max use. So in turn, I requested she appear here today as our very first Guest Blogger and in perfect Rice fashion she said, “I’d love to!”
If you need something fun to do in and around Boston this coming weekend, check out her top picks for The Weekend Sweet Spot and maybe we’ll see you there!

Twice a year, the Fort Point arts community opens its doors to the public… lots of fun stuff to check out. For those interested, check out the list of studios that are open and the list of events.

The classic HEAD OF THE CHARLES Sat-Sun all day:
With sun expected on Sunday, I’ll probably leave this to the end of the weekend. The races run from 8am until 4:45 on Sunday.

SOWA Sun 10-4:
There are only 2 Sundays left for SOWA to be open. I also want to attend this … how will I fit it all in?

(ABBY: 2 weeks?! I am definitely getting over for the final shows!)
A Good Plan & Tip – Be sure to have a weather app handy:
“I always have a weather app open on my phone so it looks like the early weather report forecast is rain for Saturday and sun on Sunday. So I’m thinking… check out the art exhibit Saturday afternoon and go out on the town afterward. And then hit RIBFEST on Sunday as my friend’s “Kelly’s Sunday Night Dinner” then probably visit the Head of the Charles in the morning on Sunday. If the weather is nice, it’s a nice walk from the Back Bay!” Rice Wales, Marketing Director – Boston Magazine.
Thanks for the above suggestions Rice and for making your very first Guest Appearance on my blog! I am looking forward to many more. I hope you enjoy the above visit from the fabulous, and ever in-the-know, Rice Wales. Feel free to let us know any other great events happening (this weekend or any other) and I’ll be sure to help spread the word!
